Affordable housing for students from here and abroad – with this intention the AWO established such a hall of residence in Freiburg back in the sixties. Today, it is rented and managed by the AWO District Association of Baden e.V., idyllically and at the same time centrally located at the River Dreisam in the town district called Oberwiehre.

Beautiful style of life

Each one of the eight floors of the AWO student accommodation is built for one student residential group with usually up to 15 persons. It is provided with a common kitchen, a homely recreation room and a bathroom area. On the top floor of the housing, a roof terrace offers such a beautiful view over Freiburg. In-house events can be organized here and in the approx. 140 sqm lounge. There is a pool table room on the ground floor. And if you like, you can also spend your free time playing table football and table tennis. 

Every student has their own room with an internet flat rate.

Location

The AWO student accommodation is located within a green area at the River Dreisam in Oberwiehre, a very attractive district of Freiburg. A good infrastructure allows shortdistances: The city centre as well as the university and the University of Education can bereached in less then 15 minutes by bike – usually by using extra bicycle paths. Nearby, the students find a public swimming pool and a large shopping centre. The house is well connected to public transportation.
